Feelin' GIF-fy
final project for digital-traditional media class
More on this later (maybe…)! Knowing how I am…I will tweak these forever and 5 years later look at them and say “Hm. Why didn’t I ever post these?"
So for posterity and the sake of not being (as much of) a crazy person, I’m gonna follow my rule and:
This was the final for my digital-traditional media class (which I LOVED and learned SO much in), we had to create four related GIFs/illustrations that told an autobiographical story. We were initially asked to write a 4 act story, and since I’m turning 40 in a few years, I wanted to tell the story of my life in 4 acts (decades-ish though not exactly).
1 - Ocean of Interest (childhood) - zig-zaggy journey with art and music since childhood (how art was a tiny interest that had to find me again later in life, and music the big interest that really got my attention until I found art again in my 30’s). It’s set on the beach because I used to go to my grandparent’s beach cottage every summer as a kid. My grandparents always encouraged my music and creative interests there.
2 - Keyboards - trying to balance work for money vs. music/passion in my twenties.
3 - 30’s Boggle - shaking up life in my thirties, more on this later maybe, but Boggle was THEEE game of my childhood.
4 - 40’s Slots - possibilities of my 40s, which are coming up in a couple years and the idea that all creative careers are a gamble, but you can’t win if you don’t play, and that it’s never too late to take a chance on the things you really want in life.
Right now they’re just GIF’s, next up is clean-up and sound design and turning them into proper animations!
Kay…back to the lab (…my ipad)!
