Robot Research and Lazy Lines
SKETCHY THOUGHTS:
(still practicing charcoaling! I feel like I need to watch a tutorial on how to use the white charcoal because we were not getting along)
WORKLOGS ARE BACK! It’s been nice to have a break but I actually kinda missed them…A LOT has happened in these few weeks.
In summary, I have been:
-INTERNING: I started an internship at an animation studio (!!) . It has already been so fun and SO fascinating. More on this soon…
-MAGAZINE-ING: Started a new and very fun project with the twin Janice Lagata that I’m super excited about. Also more to come on this sooooooon……..
-LIBRARY-ING Got a library card? Storm ate one of my borrowed books 😂 . They charged me for it but honestly it’s a GREAT book and one I actually (secretly) wanted to keep.
Good boy.
I am also designing some robot-y characters…oddly enough these lego books are kind of helping me make sense of how joints and levers work?
-IMPROV-ING Took an improv class! I kinda sucked at it, but that’s okay :-). I’m glad I did it and may even do it again. It taught the importance of listening to your scene partners and ALSO that there is no shortage of words or ideas.
Which is kind hammering home a point that’s been on my mind a lot these days, which is to stop being so precious with my art/music. There will always be new ideas. And no matter how precious I feel any one idea is, there will probably always be a better one just around the corner. Enter, the next segment:

So because I am historically a creative hoarder (which, thanks to this Worklog I am working on changing), I made a whole EP years ago and just never released it. It’s honestly a very old version of me, so much about the ways I think and operate in the world are different now but there are still lines I connect with and some moments I really enjoy.
I THINK I’m just going to release PANCAKES as a single, but since you are here in my junk drawer, feel free to take a listen to the whole EP!
Once Upon A Delusional Breakfast
I’ve been working on some super rough ideas for the single’s cover art - originally I just had the boy sliding down the pancakes, but it was a little too…happy? Many of my songs, at least the ones I used to write are actually sad songs with a happy sounding veneer.
I’m still messing with ideas but lemme know what you think!

I’ve also been working on some instrumental loops. I think one day I want to release them…maybe as a pack? I’m not sure yet, but here are a couple:
