SKETCHY THOUGHTS:
This is almost Worklog #10! Which may not mean anything to anyone, but it’s a big accomplishment for me. I’m stepping out of 6-ish years of creative quietude, so almost 10 weeks of consistently being “out here” is a big deal for me. It feels good.
This era for me is all about building good creative habits, not being so precious with my stuff and getting out of of my head. And whoever else is on a mission to do the same, I hope these letters in bottles find you somewhere across the ocean of the internet, and that we can help each other along that journey.
This blog, and “Futurefinished” generally, was meant to be an experiment. A pop-up shop…jumper cables to get the car going again. I told myself I would keep it up as long as it was feeling good and useful to myself or someone else and let it go when it was not.
Right now, it’s feeling useful for me, and I hope for someone else. I’m having fun with it, so we’re gonna keep pushing. Thanks for being here, even if quietly💙.

SIDE QUEST:
I submitted for the Star Wars themed character design challenge! Here’s how it turned out:

Pretty happy with the result considering I discovered the competition late in the month AND realized this week that I did not fully read the rules, lol. They clearly state that your character had to be showing their whole body, so I had to pivot from my original idea, which I still want to finish one day.

MAIN QUEST:
I put a pause on the boxy animation this week, BUT I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, and this week I finally went ahead and did it.
Presenting…
It’s just a google drive, nothing special. But it’s a public inventory/tracker of all of my stuff - old, and in-progress.
Sure, one day I may update my website with my portfolio, etc. etc. It’s nice to have that polished up and pretty stuff. But I think the in-between stuff is cool too. The side-quests and dead ends. V1-6 before we finally get to “v7_FINAL.”
My plan is to keep dropping stuff in there throughout the week, maybe more music too. New versions of things as I’m making them, updating my portfolio as we go and still making a place for things that were fun for what they were and may never be anything more. And we can all check in on Fridays and see how we’re doing with the new stuff 👋 .
My favorite folder in there is “MAYBE NEVERLAND (scraps of old fan-art and concepts that may or may never become anything)”
